Surfacing specified for the space
Rubber crumb, often called wet pour, can provide a cushioned, continuous finish for play and recreation areas. YRC Maintenance & Surfacing assesses the intended use and existing construction before proposing an installation or repair.
Planning a new installation
- Play areasThe surface system and depth need to suit the equipment, fall heights and relevant project requirements.
- Paths and activity spacesWe consider expected use, accessibility, drainage and transitions to adjacent surfaces.
- Colours and layoutsA choice of finishes can help define different areas, subject to the selected system.
Repairs and maintenance
- Local damageAssess worn, split or lifting areas and explain whether a patch repair or wider replacement is appropriate.
- Edges and junctionsRepair affected edges and check the surrounding construction.
- CleaningRemove dirt and organic growth using methods appropriate to the surface.
Clear scope and records
We agree the proposed materials, preparation and repair limits before starting. For safety-critical areas, the required inspection or testing should be established for the particular project. A repair does not by itself certify the performance of the whole playground. We provide the agreed installation records and care guidance.
