Practical support for play and recreation areas
We help schools, organisations and site managers install and maintain outdoor surfaces. The starting point is how the area is used, what equipment is present and what condition the existing surface is in.
Different parts of an outdoor space do different jobs. A route to the play area, an informal seating zone and the surface beneath equipment may need separate specifications. We can help define those areas so that the quotation clearly describes what is being repaired or installed in each location.
Jobs we handle
- New surfacingPrepare and install suitable surfaces for the agreed play or activity area.
- Local repairsAssess splits, worn patches and damaged edges, then explain the scope and limits of a repair.
- Recreation spacesSurfacing options for paths, informal activity areas and multi-use spaces, specified around the intended use.
Safety requirements agreed at the start
For equipment areas, the selected system and depth must be considered alongside fall heights and the relevant project requirements. We agree any required inspection or testing as part of the scope. Patching one area does not automatically confirm the safety performance of the whole site.
Photos of the whole area, close-ups of damaged edges and details of the equipment are useful starting points. We also discuss supervision, access for our team and how the work area will be separated from people using the rest of the site. Larger or more complex jobs can be reviewed on site.
Clear handover and ongoing care
Our own teams document the agreed work and provide the relevant project information. We discuss access restrictions, reopening arrangements and care of the completed surface. Regular inspection and maintenance remain important after installation or repair.
