Tarmac for everyday commercial use
Tarmac is a practical option for many vehicle and pedestrian areas. We plan the construction around traffic, ground conditions and drainage, from localised repairs to a full resurfacing project.
Wear is not always spread evenly across a site. Entrances, turning points and areas around drainage covers can need attention while the surrounding surface remains serviceable. We can help distinguish a defined repair from a wider resurfacing job, so the proposed work addresses the condition of the area.
Jobs we handle
- Car parks and forecourtsNew surfacing and refurbishment, with associated marking and edge details agreed as part of the scope.
- Access roads and yardsConstruction specified for the expected vehicles, turning movements and use of the site.
- Paths and pedestrian routesA straightforward finish with levels and transitions considered for the people using it.
Repairs or resurfacing?
A pothole, damaged edge or worn surface does not always mean the whole area needs replacing. We assess the damage and underlying construction, then explain whether patching, resurfacing or more extensive preparation is appropriate.
We also look at how new surfacing meets existing paving, kerbs and access points. Tell us about standing water, repeated repairs or areas used by heavier vehicles: these details help us understand the problem and plan the preparation, rather than simply cover the visible damage.
Preparation and return to use
Our own teams carry out the agreed preparation and surfacing. We discuss phasing, access restrictions and when the area can reopen, allowing for the materials, conditions and intended traffic. Project information and progress updates are kept organised through our in-house digital tools.
